Terms of Use

These terms (“Terms”) govern your use of gitdash (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

gitdash is a dashboard that connects to your GitHub account so you can browse your repositories and organizations faster, switch themes, and arrange widgets. The Service reads data from GitHub with the permissions you grant; it does not modify your GitHub data.

Parts of the Service may be shown with demo data when you are not signed in. Demo data is illustrative and does not reflect any real person or repository.

2. Your GitHub account

  • You must have a GitHub account in good standing to sign in.
  • Your use of GitHub is governed by GitHub’s own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability of GitHub or for content hosted there.
  • You may disconnect the Service at any time by signing out or by revoking the application in your GitHub settings.

3. Accounts and security

You are responsible for activity that occurs under your session. Do not attempt to access other users’ accounts or data, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for anything unlawful or to violate anyone’s rights;
  • scrape, bulk-download, or place excessive load on the Service or the GitHub API through it;
  • circumvent access controls, permission checks, or rate limits;
  • probe, disrupt, or attack the Service;
  • misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

5. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. Your GitHub content remains yours — we display it to you under the permissions you granted and claim no ownership in it. “GitHub” and related marks are trademarks of GitHub, Inc.; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by GitHub.

6. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

7. Availability and changes

The Service is provided “as is” while it evolves. We may add, change, or remove features, and may suspend or discontinue the Service, with reasonable notice where feasible. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

8. Warranty and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) one hundred euros (EUR 100). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as for intent or gross negligence where applicable.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if needed to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example intellectual property, warranty disclaimers, and liability limits) survive termination.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of the Service is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain applicable.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by updating the effective date above and, where practical, by notice within the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
